Like Daniel and his friends in Babylon, believers today face a culture that subtly seeks to reshape identity, values, and loyalties—but spiritual formation in Christ enables resistance without fear or contempt. True resistance is rooted not in outrage but in devotion to God—living faithfully, practicing spiritual rhythms, and saying yes to God’s presence again and again. Daniel’s integrity, wisdom, and humility show that faithfulness and favor can coexist, influencing even hostile systems. Ultimately, Daniel points to Jesus—the greater exile—who entered our “Babylon,” embodying truth and grace, and now sends us into the world as people shaped by His Spirit for the good of our neighbors.
