These are the kinds of questions we get when putting together this team. The beauty is that it doesn't matter! God gathers the people He will need. If God has burdened your heart to serve, then answer that call.
In advance of our arrival, we contact leaders at many locations we serve and ask them to identify individuals in need of medical services. It's always amazing to see how God guides us to the individuals needing the expertise of the medical professionals on our team. We love to serve their physical needs and then find opportunities to pray with them and speak to their spiritual needs.
