The Cost of Discipleship

This Sunday, RD teaches from Luke 14:25–33, exploring Jesus’ call to wholehearted discipleship, emphasizing that following Him requires placing our love and devotion to Christ above everything else. He challenges us to resist cultural compromise, reject divided allegiances, and surrender anything that competes with our devotion to God. While Jesus calls His followers to count the cost of discipleship and take up their cross, radical obedience is often lived out through small, intentional acts of everyday faithfulness. Rather than relying on our own effort, true transformation comes through the power of the Holy Spirit and is sustained by God’s love for us. Ultimately, the costly grace of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us, is both the foundation and motivation for wholehearted discipleship, reminding us that He alone is worthy of everything.
