Design, Desire, and God's Will for Human Sexuality

Oct 27, 2019    RD McClenagan

RD teaches from Romans 1:26-27. In these verses, Paul looks at ways that we, as humans, make exchanges for things that we view as "better" than God - homosexuality being one of them. One of the most important aspects of these verses is that homosexuality goes against the natural order of God's creation. The differences between males and females are where there is power and beauty. RD emphasizes the importance of letting scripture be the lens that shapes our human experiences, not our experiences be the lens that we shape scripture. As Christians, we need to be a people of deep conviction, but also deep compassion. Our identity does not come from our sexuality or marital status, but who we are in Christ. Romans 1 does not just condemn homosexuals, it condemns all people because all immorality breaks God's heart.
